We had Julie's annual IEP meeting two weeks ago and the news was all good! She has made such amazing progress at school that she has changed classes for the 4th quarter of the year. She is now in an integrated classroom rather than a self-contained class! She still has an IEP and she still receives therapy, but now she is in a larger class with many more "typically developing" peers around her. The other big news is that she will go to regular (mainstreamed) kindergarten next year rather than a special self-contained program. We are so proud of her! If only you could all see how far she has come...and if you could only listen to her read! She amazes me every day.
Here's a picture of Julie in her new preschool class. Can you guess what they were studying last week?
Yep! Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham! Yum!

What wonderful news! (although I can't believe she is big enough to be starting kindergarten already) I am so happy for her!!!! I had to laugh at the photo ... if Matt were to see it he would cringe, he still remmebers his childhood lesson on green eggs n ham, ewww, ha! :)
Fantastic!!! I remember you had to push a little for the IEP. Glad that she has made such progress! Kindergarten will be here before you know it!
Hi! Congratulations on your new little darling! He is so cute!
How wonderful that Julie is making so much progress!!! Sarah, (B.D. a week before Julie's) isn't reading yet. We decided a few weeks ago to give her some space away from her new sissy, Chayah, and put her in a Christian preschool. Hopefully, she'll start reading too :) They have to be so advanced(!) for kindergarten....It also looks like Sarah will get another cleft surgery (lip/nose) before then.
Blessings,
Caroline
What fun catching up with you. I am THRILLED to hear how well darling Julie is doing. Oh my! Melody looks as cute as can be, and that Joseph~ how cute is he????
I'm sorry to hear his birth experience was not all you hoped it would be.
