Matching Outfits

We have officially started clothes shopping for our trip to China. While there, we will do all of our laundry in the hotel tub and then hang it to dry, so we need to bring items that will dry quickly. The best material for that is 100% polyester. When we went to adopt Julie in December 2005, we brought a lot of fleece-type things, but that won't work in the 100+ degree heat of summer! I pretty much never go clothes shopping, so it was a lot of fun to pick out some things for the girls (I love saying "the girls!"). We got them four matching outfits, 3 dresses and 1 shorts set. I hope Melody won't be swimming in 12 month sizes! We are hoping that the matching outfits will help Julie make the connection that Melody belongs with us/her. Julie is a VERY visual learner so it might just work. At the very least, they will look so cute together! Here's what we have so far:

Strawberry patterned sundresses:

Easter dresses on sale at Target:

This is actually a PJ set, but I thought it passed as regular clothing just fine!

Pants from the PJ set, which look more like PJs, but we probably won't use these except in the hotel where we hope to have a/c:

Pink dresses:

And here is Julie's carry-on, which we plan to fill with all kinds of things to keep her busy on the 15 hour plane ride (yikes!):

We also found some black shorts for each of us, as well as 2 shirts for Larry. We'll probably wear some of our running shirts as well. If you happen to see any good deals on 100% poly clothes, let us know!

What a great idea to dress them alike. They will be so cute besides it being helpful to Julie! Oh, and I just love that I can say "the girls" now, too!

If it helps you to judge at all, Anne fits quite nicely in 12 month clothes (not sure if it means 9-12 months or just 12 months) and she's 18 lbs and 28 inches. Pants and shorts that are 12 months are a bit long for her. If you know melody's weight and length, maybe this will help.

Cute clothes! Fun!

So cute! I think it's a great idea to dress them alike. I'm sure it will help Julie. Can't wait 'til they can actually both wear the clothes!

Thanks for the comments, ladies! April, thank you for the comparison with Anne's size. That is good to know. The last info I have for Melody is from December, so it will be a bit of a guessing game to figure out her size in August. I also don't know if they weighed her with lots of clothes on or not. If the measurements are correct, she was 13 pounds at 10 weeks old. That seems like a lot to me, but what do I know!? We'll make the clothes work one way or another!

You did an awesome job finding some cute clothes!! I know both of your daughters will look adorable in them! Plus, with the dresses, it shouldn't be too much of a problem if it is large on Melody (as long as it doesn't trip her when she walks!)
